Fresh off the plane from New Zealand, having spent two weeks doing stand up in Wellington and Auckland, Jarlath Regan is now kicking back in preparation for the long weekend that is ahead - the Carlsberg Cat Laughs Comedy Festival.

There were laughs galore on Monday when the Carlsberg Cat Laughs team opened the doors to their latest pride and joy, a brand new box office.

Comedy fans aged over 18 who join the Carlsberg Comedy Cat Nabbers, will have the chance to meet the comedians face to face to reunite them with their Carlsberg Comedy ‘Cats’ at the Carlsberg Cat Laughs comedy festival in Kilkenny.

Kilkenny prides itself on being a medieval hotspot filled with historical wonders and ancient beauty. It also prides itself on hosting the original and the best comedy festival in Ireland. What better way to showcase both, than by taking visitors to this year’s Carlsberg Cat Laughs on a treasure hunt through the city in search of the perfect Saturday afternoon – a comedy show spectacular.

Saturday December 27 promises to be full to the brim of festive fun and frolics when Neil Delamere and Jason Byrne come to the Royal Castlebar Theatre and Event Centre. A double helping of comedy genius arrives in Castlebar and Christmas Craic! is a show not to be missed. Neil Delamere is one of the top headline acts working in the Irish comedy scene today and is one of the biggest factors in the huge success of RTE television’s hit show The Panel . Having performed on five continents, he staged his debut solo show in the Edinburgh festival in 2004. His live stand-up set was then recorded for the BBC comedy series One Night Stand. Hailed by the Irish Independent for his countless MC skills, Neil is the regular compere at several gigs round Dublin. He has performed all over Ireland as well as at the prestigious Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. He featured in both series of the TV stand-up show Liffey Laughs. Neil also presented the RTE television series covering the Montreal festival for two years in a row as well as The World Stands Up for Paramount. Taking a practice kick at Kilkenny Castle where the line up of this year’s comedy festival was announced earlier this week, star of RTE’s The Panel, Neil Delamere reiterated that it was indeed him who scored the winning goal at last year’s comedian’s soccer match.

Kilkenny IT provider BITS – Business IT Solutions – has been awarded the contract of official IT provider to the forthcoming Carlsberg Cat Laughs Comedy Festival.
